ArasaKumar B T popularly knows as BT Kumar hailed from Maruthanthalai a remote village in Pudukottai district of South Tamilnadu (born 22 June 1968), Started his elementary school in Maruthanthalai of Pudukottai district later moved to Thiruvermbur, Vengur Government school for his fourth and fifth classes. Having completed his high school in Manaparai Government High school, Had the higher secondary education in Ponniah Higher secondary school, Palakarrai of Trichy. Further, he went on to complete his MA in History from Annamalai University.

>Mr.Arasakumar is married to Ms.Kokila and is blessed with a daughter A.Shanmugapriya who is a Doctor MD his son in law P.M. Anbumaran is also Doctor MD and a son Mr.A.Karthick who works as a Director in Tamil film industry. He is very spiritual and God-fearing and performs various temple related activities like annathanam every year around his hometown. He was interested in politics right from his childhood and he started very young, at the age of 18 by attending political meetings. He grew to this stature without any political background and is a self-made person.

With the aim to give standard education to the rural students started English medium schools in the rural areas In iIlupur Melattaniyam, Annavasal of Pudukkottai district in the year 1990.
